Mary Addison Hackett

Mary Addison Hackett is a painter currently based in Nashville, Tennessee.  In addition to two solo exhibitions with Kristi Engle Gallery in Los Angeles, her work has been exhibited nationally (Los Angeles, New York, Chicago) and internationally, (Umbria, Italy; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Montevideo, Uruguay.)  Hackett's videos have screened at local and international film festivals including The Independent Prague Film Festival, The Euro Underground Film Festival, and The Aurora Picture Show.  Her work is represented in the permanent collection of the Riverside Museum of Art and Chapman's University's Permanent Collection of Art.  Grants and awards include The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, The Ruth Chenven Foundation, and several residency programs.  Reviews and press include The Los Angeles Times and New City Chicago among others.

Born in Atlanta and raised in Nashville, Hackett has lived and worked in Chicago and Los Angeles.  She is currently an artist-in-residence at Cummins Station in downtown Nashville.  She holds a BFA in Painting from the University of Tennessee and her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
